| Symphony of Agony of Lightninghoof |
Welcome to Symphony of Agony!
We are a newly formed Horde guild in World of Warcraft on the server, Lighteninghoof. We are an RP/PVE/PVP guild, in that order. We are currently recruiting and gearing new members to get ready for Naxxramas and then progress to full end-game. We are an RP guild firstmost, so guildchat is all In Character (IC) and we have an Out of Character (OOC) channel as well for normal chat. We do have a tabard, guild bank, and vent. Our first focus will be Heroics and 10 man Naxx to get everyone geared. We will also help with leveling you when time permits if you are below 80. Please see our rules, guidelines, and intentions below. If you re interested in joining, you may contact Primanoctes, Cozmyk, or Cristaire in-game.
RP: First and foremost, we are an RP guild. This does not mean you have to roleplay to be in the guild, but it is preffered. We will be holding weekly guild meetings with some RP tutorials as well for those of you new to RP or for even veterans to help out with ideas, even. As for guild RP, it takes place in a guild home called "The Hold". We have an engineer who (In RP) makes a device that attaches to your hearthstone, allowing you to communicate with other guild members from anywhere in the world and we have an RP channel for that as well. The "device" prevents members from being limited to one particular spot (such as the Hold in guild chat). This way, you can RP no matter where you are in the game, or what you're doing.
We like to encourage RPers to "Think outside the box" as well when it comes to RP. For example, how often do you see this: * hits with [said spell]. instantly dies because was level 80 and was only level 55.* In this instance, why couldn't the lvl 55 outwit the level 80? We'd like to see RP go outside of level. On that note, however, please do keep in mind that "God-moding" is looked down upon not only in the guild but on this server as well, so please refrain from it at all costs. Be creative in your RP, think outside the box, but keep it realistic at the same time.
PVE: As far as PVE goes, we will be starting with heroics to get everyone geared for Naxxramas. We will then start with 10 man Naxx then once we have enough people, 25 man Naxx, then Ulduar. It is important to start with heroics so we can all learn, not only each other's fighting styles, but the fights as well. If you're not yet 80, please learn and pay attention to the fights in regular mode so that you will know them already in Heroic mode. To give an example: Let's say our main tank knows he can pull 3-4 pulls with a good healer behind him/her. However, he joins Symphony of Agony (SoA), and learns that the main healer only has enough mana to heal him through 1-2 pulls. He/She is not going to pull 3-4 if he/she knows his healer. Same goes for DPS classes. If you realize your DPS is too strong and you're pulling agro off the tank, you'll know to back off a bit, or use lesser spells to avoid this. It's knowing things like this within your certain group that makes you a good group that works well together.
PVP: We will also be offering weekly PVP events as soon as we have the numbers. These will be weekly guild raids on Alliance towns and cities. ANY level is welcomed on these raids! It will be the higher level's job to help escort the lower levels with us (clearing mobs, etc). Certain higher levels can either volunteer for this or they will be assigned to certain lower levels. We will be hitting up lower leveled towns along the way to larger Alliance cities so that these lower levels can have their fun in the PVP as well. Everyone will get to kill an Alliance of or close to their level. If the interest is there, then we will also have at least one guild Battleground night as well.
Guild Rules:
1) First and foremost, respect your guildmates! No namecalling, no bickering, no rudeness! IC is one thing if it's RP but it will not be tolerated OOC.
2) No asking for gold or run-throughs on a constant basis. If your alt is in the guild, and you have several quests for a certain dungeon and cannot seem to get a group, one run through to get your quests done is fine. If one of us has the time, and we can do it for you simply for XP, that is fine too, but constantly asking and expecting the higher leveled members to "power-level" you is unacceptable and will not be tolerated.
3) No charging other guild-members for enchants, potions, etc. We will be keeping a good amount of supplies in the guild bank for these things. That's what your guild is there for, to help you out! Tips are fine, but charging for mats when they are available will not be tolerated.
4) All gathering-professions will be expected to put at least one stack of their profession in the guild bank weekly. (Leatherworkers put 1 stack of the highest lvl leather you can skin in the bank, same with herbalists, and miners). This is how we keep the supplies for enchants, potions, gear, etc. Any extras we have that are not used will be "auctioned" at a guild-only auction weekly and sold at a lower price than the regular auction house. This money will go into the guild bank to provide repairs for guild members. If we get enough gold into the bank from this, then we will help you with your mount training as well. |

| 06-22-2009 Guild Meeting Update |
Just a quick update on the meeting this evening since some couldn't make it due to work:
You are expected to show up to raids and heroics ON TIME AND READY! This means be repaired already, have plenty of water, arrows, reagents, anything you need. If you sign up on the calendar for a raid you are EXPECTED to be there ready and on-time!
Also, no goofing off during raids or heroics! This goes for party chat, raid chat AND vent! I'm all for having fun in this game, but for now, a lot of us are new 80's and need to concentrate on our class, spec, and especially on learning the fights and strategies of not only the mobs but each other. When we're geared to the 9's and blowing through Naxx10 in one night, then sure, a little more joking and whatnot will be fine but until then, take our raids and runs seriously, or you won't be invited to them anymore.
On that note, there is now a 3-strike rule on this. If you sign up to a raid and do not show (unless you contacted me ahead of time letting me know something was up), leave early, or goof off during the raid, you will get a strike against your name. 3 strikes, and you will no longer be invited to guild heroics or raids.
Naxxramas runs will start back up next week - check your calendar for the invites. There is also a new post on the Naxx forums here so I can get a good idea of what starting times work best for everyone...please take a few moments to answer the poll there.
Also, Illuminoss is starting a small group within the guild called "Knights of Agony". He will be training anyone interested in becoming a Knight and teaching the ways of the old code to them. This group will also act as a "protection group", so to speak, for the guild. (This is all simply RP'd out with a bit of PVP involved as well.) If this is something you're interested in, please see Illuminoss in-game about it.
Promotions:
